Spybot S&D - Page 2...
Next step... checking for problems...
This step is easy, too. Just click on the 'Check for Problems' button and
let Spybot S&D go to work.
Notice the status bar; it is indicating that the check is running and has
numerical and graphical indicators to indicate progress. There is also
a 'Stop Check' button if you decide to stop checking for scumware/spyware.
When the check is complete you will see one of two things, both of which
are represented here. 1. 'Congratulations! No immediate threats were found
(shown with the green check mark above) 2. You will see a list of 'problems'
with checkboxes next to each one. In order to fix the problems,
be sure to place a check mark in each box. If there is a 'problem'
found that you know is not scumware (this happens), don't check the box.
Spybot does something quite helpful on this screen as well. If you click on a problem, Spybot will tell you as much as it can about the 'threat' and its creator. It will detail why it is a threat, what kind of information it stores or exchanges with its parent site and more. Sorry, no screen shot of this - didn't want to infect my computer on purpose!
